Technical Manager
Websites, SEO and Internal Systems
Own the web presence of a 6+ brand group: keep the sites fast, findable and current, build new ones from a brief, and ship the internal tools the sales team runs on.
About Ultra Group
Ultra Group has been building Nepal’s modern home since 1997. 6+ brands, sold through our own showrooms and 100+ partner outlets across all seven provinces: power, water, heat, light and the appliances in between.
Our websites are where customers, partner outlets and job applicants meet the group. They must be fast, findable and current, and they must grow. This role owns them.
The Role
This role owns Ultra Group’s web presence end to end: ultragroup.com.np, the Ultra estore, the Ultra store on Daraz, and every new site the group decides to build. Day to day, the sites stay fast, secure and up to date. Month to month, search visibility for the group’s product categories climbs. When the Digital Director hands over an idea for a new site or an internal tool, it gets designed, built front end and back end, tested and shipped.
The second half of the job is internal software: an in-house lead management system that the sales and digital teams actually use, built new or optimised from what already exists. The Digital Marketing Manager is the main internal client for pages, landing pages and SEO content. The sales team is the client for the lead system. The Digital Director sets direction and reviews the work.
What This Role Owns
Responsibilities
Website Maintenance
ultragroup.com.np and the Ultra estore kept current: product pages, prices, offers, news and careers listings updated within 24 hours of a request. WordPress core, theme and plugins updated on a schedule. Backups verified and a restore tested every quarter. Uptime monitored. Broken links, forms and pages fixed before anyone reports them.
SEO and Visibility
Technical SEO (speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile, schema, sitemaps, indexing) and on-page SEO for every product and category page. Keyword targets set with the Digital Marketing Manager. Google Search Console and GA4 read weekly. A monthly ranking and traffic report to the Digital Director. The measure is simple: organic traffic and rankings for the group’s product categories must climb month on month.
New Websites, Front End and Back End
When a new site is approved, it is designed, built, tested and launched from the idea brief provided: front end, back end, hosting, domain, analytics, forms. Staging review before go-live. Delivered on the agreed timeline, and documented on launch.
Internal Lead Management Software
An in-house lead management system, built or optimised from what exists: leads from ads, website forms, WhatsApp and partner outlets captured in one place, assigned to the right coordinator or outlet, with status tracking and simple reports for leadership. Must work on a phone and be usable by non-technical staff. This is the main software build of the first year.
Estore Back End
Catalogue structure, categories, filters, search, checkout and payment integrations kept working. New products added in bulk from spreadsheets. Inventory and pricing synced with the office’s source of truth so the site never shows a price the showroom does not.
Daraz Store Optimisation and Maintenance
The Ultra store on Daraz kept complete and competitive: every live product listed with full specs, correct variants, clean images and keyword-rich titles. Stock and pricing synced with the estore and the office price list. Listing quality scores and placement in Daraz search tracked and improved. Store page and category layout maintained. Before every Daraz campaign the Digital Marketing Manager plans, listings and stock must be confirmed campaign-ready. The same standard applies to any other Nepali marketplace the group sells on.
Security, Hosting and Performance
SSL, firewall, admin access and credentials managed properly (password manager, no shared logins in chat). Hosting managed and costs tracked. Page speed treated as a feature, not an afterthought.
Documentation and Handover
Every site and tool has a README: how to deploy, where credentials live, what to do when it breaks. No knowledge lives only in one person’s head.
Campaign Landing Pages
A fast page for every boosted campaign: the offer, an outlet locator and a WhatsApp call-to-action. Built from a template so a new one takes hours, not days.
Outlet Locator and Per-City Pages
A map-based store finder listing every partner outlet with directions and a WhatsApp button, plus template-generated per-city pages with local SEO, so every outlet is findable on Google.
Tracking and Analytics
GA4, Meta Pixel, conversion events and call/WhatsApp click tracking across all sites, with a simple dashboard the Digital Director and Digital Marketing Manager read weekly.
Forms-to-Lead Automation
Website forms and lead-form ads flow automatically into the lead system and to the right person, with no manual copying. Built in code or with a workflow tool.
Careers and Application Pipeline
The careers-apply form with required fields, applicant routing to HR, and automatic acknowledgement emails. Applications land sorted, not in an inbox.
Outlet Asset Portal
A simple internal portal where partner outlets download the monthly content kit, price cards and logos, so the Digital Marketing Manager stops sending files one WhatsApp at a time.
AI Tools Are Not Optional Here
This role uses Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT daily as development instruments: pair-programming when stuck, generating and reviewing code, drafting meta descriptions and alt text at scale, debugging faster. This is what lets one technical person own a multi-site stack and still ship new builds. Candidates who are not already comfortable using AI tools for real code will not fit this role.
Requirements
- 2+ years building and maintaining live websites — or a portfolio of live sites that proves the same
- WordPress and WooCommerce (or equivalent) at code level — themes, plugins, custom fields, performance tuning, not just the admin panel
- Front end — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and one modern framework (React, Next.js or similar) for new builds
- Back end — PHP or Node.js, a relational database (MySQL or PostgreSQL), REST APIs
- Technical SEO with results — Core Web Vitals, schema, sitemaps, indexing, Search Console, and at least one ranking or traffic gain that can be shown
- Marketplace listings — Daraz Seller Centre or equivalent: bulk uploads, listing quality, stock and price sync
- Hosting and security basics — cPanel or VPS, SSL, backups, access control
- Git — branch, commit, pull request, clean history
- AI tool proficiency (required) — daily user of Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT for code; can prompt, verify and iterate
- Reliability — small commitments delivered on time; blockers raised early, not after the deadline
Bonus — Stronger Candidate Signals
- Built a CRM, lead tracker or internal tool that real people used — the closest thing to the first-year build
- Nepali payment gateways — eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay or ConnectIPS integrations
- Headless CMS or Next.js — Sanity, Strapi or similar in production
- Local SEO for a multi-location business — Google Business Profile at scale, per-city pages
- Workflow tools — n8n, Zapier or Make for forms, notifications and syncs
- Figma to code — can take a design and build it pixel-close, or take a rough idea and make it look right without a designer
- Marketplace feed automation — automated stock and price sync between an estore and Daraz
First 90 Days
- Full audit of ultragroup.com.np and the estore: speed, SEO, security, broken pages, with urgent fixes shipped
- Backups verified and a restore tested
- Search Console and GA4 clean and reporting
- 24-hour update turnaround in place
- Daraz store audit: missing specs, images and stock mismatches listed, fixes started
- Core Web Vitals passing on key pages; schema and sitemaps live
- First monthly SEO report with baseline rankings for target categories
- Lead system: existing tool improved and in use, or replacement scoped and build started
- Careers-apply form with required fields live
- Every live product on Daraz with complete specs and synced pricing
- Measurable ranking and traffic gains on target product categories
- First new site or landing-page system delivered from brief to live
- Lead system in daily use by the sales team, with reports read by leadership
- README complete for every site and tool
- Daraz listing quality and search placement measurably up; sync process running
Compensation and Trial
Expected monthly salary must be stated in the application. It is a required field, and the offer is built around that number and the technical test. One-month paid trial, then confirmation based on what shipped.
Why This Role Is Worth It
Most web jobs in Nepal are one template site and a plugin update. This is a 6+ brand group with live commerce, 100+ partner outlets that need to be found online, and a Digital Director who hands over ideas and expects them built. Full ownership of the web stack and the internal tools, AI-first tooling from day one, and a clear path: as the systems grow, this role grows into head of technology for the group.
How to Apply
Live sites and numbers, not a list of skills.
- Links to 2-3 live sites built or maintained, with a line on what was done on each
- One SEO result achieved personally — before and after numbers
- GitHub profile or a code sample — anything that runs
- CV — two pages maximum
- Expected monthly salary (required — applications without it are not reviewed)
- Earliest possible start date
